MARTAalerts on twitter

After complaining that bus delays aren't being communicated to riders via MARTAalerts on twitter, I read with interest this post on twitter this morning:

MARTAalerts Yes, everyone, we're keeping track of bus alerts. There haven't been any yet. Remember, keep reporting disruptions of 10mins or more!

Exactly what does this mean?

Not a single bus delay has ever been reported via MARTAalerts since I've been following.

I later discovered that MARTAalerts is NOT an official MARTA service. Rather, someone created MARTAalerts to bring MARTA updates to twitter.

The problem is - MARTAalerts isn't timely. Their info is only as good as the information provided by MARTA. (which is lacking at best) And they don't retweet information from riders.
